Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle #1 (June 1977) - Marvel Comics - First Issue

Enter the jungle with Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle #1, the debut issue of Marvel's Tarzan series. Published in June 1977, this Bronze Age first issue brings Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic adventurer to Marvel through the storytelling of Roy Thomas and the artwork of John Buscema.

In Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar, loosely adapted from Burroughs' novel, Tarzan rescues a man who has secretly sworn to kill him. The adventure combines jungle danger, betrayal, and the promise of the lost city of Opar. Buscema also supplies the cover, which pays homage to Tarzan's 1912 debut on the cover of The All-Story.

An appealing addition for Tarzan fans, John Buscema collectors, and readers of classic jungle adventure.
